I’m worried I’m wasting your time because my problems aren’t that bad
Your pain matters, regardless of how it compares to anyone else’s. If you’re here, if something inside you is hurting or feels stuck, that’s enough. You don’t need to have experienced “big” trauma to deserve support. Sometimes the everyday hurts – feeling unseen, unheard, or like you’re not enough – can be just as heavy to carry. You’re not wasting anyone’s time by wanting to feel better.
What if I've tried therapy before and it didn't help?
That doesn’t mean therapy doesn’t work – it might mean you hadn’t found the right fit yet. Sometimes we need a different approach, or we weren’t ready before, or the therapist wasn’t the right match. Your past experiences in therapy are valid, and we can talk about what worked, what didn’t, and what you might need to feel safe this time. Healing is different for everyone, and there’s no shame in trying again.
What's the difference between counselling, hypnotherapy, and EMDR - do I need to choose?
You don’t need to choose, I use whatever approach feels right for you and where you are in your healing. Think of them as different doorways into the same room. Sometimes we need to talk things through (counselling), sometimes we need to work with deeper patterns (hypnotherapy), and sometimes our body needs help releasing what it’s been holding (EMDR). We’ll figure out together what you need and when.
